Reclaimed pieces of willow are charred, polished and pieced tightly together in this elegant yet bold wall tondo by Canadian sculptor Rod Mireau. Mireau uses traditional and experimental woodworking techniques with re-purposed wood and hardware to create sophisticated forms that hint at contemporary narratives.

Mireau (b. Saskatchewan 1971) began exploring sculpture after studies at Ontario College of Art and Design (1993 – 1997). His work is held in private and corporate collections including Holt Renfrew in Vancouver, Four Seasons in Dubai, and Pier 27 and Pears Avenue condo buildings in Toronto.
