Rose Masterpol, ‘Reina’, 2015, Wallspace

About Rose Masterpol

The versatility of Rose Masterpol’s work can be attributed largely to her refusal to study only one style or medium of art. She works intuitively; exploring with a fluid and inspired approach, her work is unmistakably genuine with a brave vulnerability shining through each stylistic excursion, revealing both the unconscious and conscious. Masterpol’s paintings are at once both abstract and concrete. “We cannot have one world without the other,” she says, “and I seek to reveal both in my work.” Masterpol’s work is collected and commissioned by clients including German expressionist collector Robert Gore Rifkind (of LACMA’s Rifkind Foundation), Sela Ward, Jane Lynch, and others.
