About Ross Watts

As a conceptual painter, sculptor, and installation artist, Ross Watts taps into the history of minimalist art and design to create works that enhance their environments by subtly reconfiguring space. His recent work has been greatly influenced by a move to Long Island’s East End—manifest in his use of riverwashed stones and faded papers, which evoke the seaside and ideas of the passing of time. Interacting with the Hamptons’ storied artistic history, Watts creates work that connects to the genealogy of American art, in particular to New York’s resounding influence on the development of contemporary aesthetic ideas.
