About Russell Maltz

Day-Glo fields and stripes of color characterize Russell Maltz’s sculpture and site-specific installations. Drawing from Minimalism and Constructivism, Maltz stacks and paints commercial building materials such as cinderblocks, glass, and plywood boards. In larger outdoor installations, Maltz establishes a dialogue beyond the walls of the studio by obtaining his supplies through local developers, then returning the altered materials to their source, where they are then incorporated into local construction projects.
