Sabrina Barrios, ‘Living Library Project: Living Library’, 2017, Bronx Museum of the Arts

The Living Library Project places the viewer outside the Earth to acknowledge its surveillance. According to former NASA and CERN scientists, ancient books and internet conspiracy theories, our moon is a satellite and humans have been observed since its installment 500,000 years ago. To illustrate this theory, Living Library combines 2 different paintings that visually complete the bigger picture and demonstrate alternate dimensions occupying the same space. Likewise, computer screens and other technologies we use today allow us to have several screens open at the same time.
