Pegasus is a divine winged horse, one of the most famous fantasy creatures in Greek mythology. Generally white in color, having Poseidon the god of the sea for father, Pegasus was born with his brother Chrysaor from the blood of the Gorgon Medusa, when she was beheaded by the hero Perseus.
He carries lightning and causes the source of the Muses to gush forth. He is the incarnate dream of Bellerophon, who captures him thanks to the complicity of the goddess Athena. He allows this hero to ride him and defeat a monster, the Chimera, the Amazons and the Solymes. before his rider falls victim to his hubris while attempting to reach Mount Olympus. Pegasus then became the mount of Zeus, the king of the gods, who commissioned him to bring lightning and thunder to Olympus, then ended up transforming him into a constellation and placing him in the sky in gratitude for his loyal services.
