Samir Sammoun, ‘Soleil et Lavande Mosaique’, 2016, Galerie d'Orsay

An incredible colorist by nature, Samir Sammoun’s rich palette and energetic brushstrokes evokes the spirits of Post-Impressionist master Vincent Van Gogh. Saturated with color on an underpainting of beautiful burnt umber reminiscent of Dutch masters, Sammoun’s landscapes capture a fleeting moment, rustle of the wind and lush lavender fields of Provence. There is a joy to his work that is undeniable.
