Seonna Hong, ‘Hello’, 2014, Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions: Benefit Auction 2017

Seonna Hong balances her art practice as both a visual development artist for animated feature films and as a painter showing her personal work in galleries around the world. Her resulting work in each field is an amalgamation of the two and yet there is also a deliberate compartmentalization. Her personal work is just that, work that culls from personal experiences of human interconnectedness (or lack thereof). Her illustrative figures traverse abstract landscapes, sometimes architectural, and almost always codified with animals and various ephemera. She lives and works in L.A.
