About Serge Hasenböhler
Serge Hasenböhler photographs his own staged, surrealistic tableaus and assemblages of found objects, human limbs, hanging still lifes, and taxidermy atop pedestals or set in imagined landscapes. His photographs often suggest motion, with objects falling or being manipulated by a disembodied human arm. Hasenböhler brings an almost typological attention to detail and composition to his photographs, placing all of his subjects at the center of his photographs as if objects of study or scrutiny.
