Seung-yoon Choi, ‘Cross-section of the moment 20-2017’, 2017, Art Acacia

Seungyoon Choi is inspired and motivated by the rule of opposing forces. His practice is engaged with gestural abstraction: colors are vibrant, brush strokes are intuitive, movements are expressive, artworks are mainly large and overwhelming, just as their emotional impact is. Seungyoon’s paintings have an innate movement, and yet they have a stop, they are bounded. The artist’s creative idea is about simplicity and complexity, big and small, movement and stillness.
