“Awa-Odori”, the one of the most famous dance performed in summer throughout Japan, originated in Tokushima prefecture on Shikoku in Japan.
“Awa-Odori” is also well known as the song goes, the dancers are fools, and the watchers are fools. Both are fools alike, so why not dance? A lot of dance groups which is called “Ren” parade around town to the rhythm of drums and sounds of bamboo flutes during the festival.
For four days from August 12 every year, the city is filled with flavor and engrossed in their own dancing.
