Silvia Lerin’s paintings, objects and assemblages stem from architecture, remnants of nature or spaces that carry stories. She responds to her immediate environment and records her work to represent a visual diary of circumstances and emotional responses. This is a new series of work that started to emerge last year from time spent working in a lower basement, surrounded by large chillers, boilers, pipes, air conditioning conduits and other metallic devices. Silvia has received numerous awards and grants, including the prestigious Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant from New York.
