A dark and grassy cliff overlooking the St. Lawrence River rises to meet bands of dove grey, pale pink, pastel blue and white in this three feet wide oil painting on board. This seascape reflects Andrew's "distilling process" an emotive depiction that verges on abstraction but is pulled back to realism by the horizon line. This painting is framed and behind glass. Andrew graduated with his MFA from Newcastle University in northeast England. He has exhibited widely with 27 solo shows in the UK and Canada. He has received two Ontario Arts Council awards and won landscape competitions including the Laing National Landscape Competition and the Lawrence Atwell Award both in the UK. Andrew's work is in corporate, public and private collections including that of actor Mel Gibson and Her Majesty The Queen in Right. His work was featured on the cover of the Canadian band Tragically Hip.
