Self-taught multi-media artist Siobhan Meow is infamous for collaborating with her cats in the creation of artworks and using their feces, urine, and fur as materials. Since the 1990s, Meow has been rescuing cats—at one point, housing as many as 100—and thinking of them as muses for her paintings, ceramic sculptures, and photography. She summarizes the focus of her work as “Feline Portraiture and Character Studies.” Meow is also known for her involvement in a squat house in New York’s East Village, from which she runs a rescue and foster care facility called Furry Love Kitten Kat Farm.
