Stephanie Goh Hui En, ‘Awkward Silence’, 2016, Roehrs & Boetsch

'silence is golden, reduce someone to silence, silence is consent, you have the right to remain silent, to break the silence, the awkward silence'

A dining table houses multiple directional speakers that play a 'sound track' for a dinner. The 'music' consists of manipulated human sounds, breathing, the scratching of skin, the clearing of the throat, a stomach gurgle, the drinking of water, and shifting in a chair.
