Makers’ Mark: The 2014 MAD Biennial Opens its Doors to New York’s Top Creatives
This cuff was made for a dear friend who we have known our whole lives. The date for this cuff is 2011 but it was actually first made around 2003 and attacked by her dog. She saved every bead and William rebuilt it for her. It is made with 19th century antique metal beads, thread, and a contemporary tubular silver clasp. It is constructed with
peyote stitch with beaded carriers on either end connecting to the clasp. A rectangular motif of blue bordered by red then green rests on one end of the cuff on a background of speckled brass, blue, and red beads.
Cuff dimensions: 7 x 2 x 1/4 inches.
