Delicately rendered tree branches float abstractly on a white ground. Daubs of mauve and rose weave around the branches, their shape and texture resembling clouds. Various patterns of cones, lines and dots also litter the atmospheric space.
The monoprint’s images and patterns, a reflection of the natural world, were carved into stitched copper sheeting using a drypoint needle. Oil based inks were then applied and the image was pressed onto archival paper. The second stage of the monoprint involved the skillful application of paint to the copper plate and a second pressing, adding white, grey, ochre and heather highlights to the work
