Early on in her career, Sloan did her first series of paisley brooches, a universally loved, graceful design. In this series, her 3rd, of paisley brooches she have elected to use materials not included earlier. Epoxy resin elements with tahitian pearls, and fine silver flowers are what adorn this group.

This brooch is made of precious metal clay, by the same technique that fondant flowers are made for cakes. Precious metal clay (or PMC) is a Mitsubishi invention that Sloan has been teaching since the mid 1990's. They are pure silver, better known as Fine Silver.
