About Tara McPherson

Pop surrealist Tara Mcpherson is interested in innocence, romantic relationships, and human idiosyncrasy. Her delicate, sentimental paintings feature solitary, highly stylized figures or couples in empty landscapes. Named the “crown princess of poster art” by ELLE, McPherson has created promotional posters for musical acts such as Beck, Modest Mouse, and Death Cab For Cutie, and designed toys with Kidrobot, Dark Horse, and Toy2R. In 2011, McPherson opened Cotton Candy Machine, an art boutique in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, a store featuring work by her favorite artists.
