Theodore Roussel, ‘L'Agonie des Fleurs’, 1890-1895, Gerrish Fine Art

A magnificent proof of the completed state of what is undoubtedly the artist's finest black and white etching. Printed on Japan paper with margins and still bearing the register cuts which facilitated the multiple printings needed to obtain the dark, even background tones. Hausberg records a total printing of sixty one impressions of which fifty were in the ninth and final state. Good examples are extremely scarce.

One of finest impressions of this print we have ever seen; in faultless condition.
