About Theresa Hackett

Theresa Hackett is constantly introducing new materials in her multimedia, collaged paintings. Her arsenal currently includes fabrics, marble dust, silver leaf, resin, photos, coffee, and whiskey, in addition to more traditional studio paints. Hackett experiments with her applications, and believes that “painting as a language presents itself as a game for me to dissect.” Her subjects appear abstract and freeflowing, but make reference to pastoral landscapes, loosely rendered grids, and patterns found in nature. Hackett also produces sculptural installations, which are abstract and share the motifs of her paintings, often serving as environments for their display.
