About Thomas Campbell

Thomas Campbell is a self-taught multi-media artist whose work characteristically features bold colors, graphic forms, and text. He is also affiliated with the Beautiful Losers collective; inspired by street art, punk, and hip hop, its members include Mark Gonzalez and Chris Johanson. Campbell once said: “It was normal for skateboarders to do graffiti…take pictures, make movies…My work is about an aesthetic.” In 1999, Campbell began making his iconic sewn works from found and personal objects. Campbell has also been casting bronze sculptures since 2006.
