About Tiffany Bozic

Tiffany Bozic is a self-taught painter whose style marries nature illustration with surrealism. Bozic, who lists James Audubon and Ernst Haeckel among her primary sources of inspiration, chooses her subjects from her experiences in the natural environment. However, the creatures that finally populate her work are often fantastical, or hybrids of flora and fauna. She says that she wants to “remind the viewer that we live in a playful and mysterious world, breathtaking in its complexity and simplicity[.]” Bozic characteristically paints on maple panels, which she prepares using a complex process of masking and staining, such that the natural grain of her material becomes more prominent. Her compositions are composed of multiple layers of diluted acrylic paint.
