Player vs Player sets the viewer up for a terrible betrayal of trust. The piece begins with the charm of a Melies film, with all the period innocence one expects from a jittery black and white film. However, the charming tropes of the silent era are betrayed by acts of quickly violence which escalate in horror and depravity. The small screen draws the viewer in close, making the horrors personal and intimate.
