About Tomás Alonso
Tomás Alonso designs with a minimal but soft aesthetic, ultimately with functionality as his highest priority. “For me it’s very important that what I design will eventually make its way into people’s hands and home,” he says. “I would like my objects to be used, lived with, and enjoyed.” Alonso’s ideologically simple approach foregrounds the expressiveness of his materials—clean woods and bold metals—which he uses to craft customizable furniture and collections of geometric desktop implements. Having studied industrial design and worked on several “real world” projects, Alonso draws influence from a diverse range of sources, including famed designers like Ray and Charles Eames, Konstantin Grcic, and Jean Prouvé.
