About Tony Feher
Tony Feher creates colorful sculptures using common materials, generally consumer waste. For some of his best-known installations, he suspended plastic bottles from the ceiling of large, empty spaces or clustered them in trees. Filled with water or colored liquid, the bottles irradiated ever-changing reflections of light and color, evoking Robert Irwin’s experimentation with color and opacity. Feher’s standing sculptures also repurpose disposable items such as rubber tubing and wooden or plastic crates, playing with line and color and arranging them to be seen and appreciated as objects with intrinsic beauty beyond their usefulness.
