Torrance Hall
Torrance Hall is a 17 year old visual artist based in Richmond, VA. Throughout his work, Hall explores the relationship between the imagination, dreams and the everyday vision of human experiences with dark and fantastical narratives. Hall often touches on the idea of masculinity and the process of growth and development, from adolescence to adulthood. He began to experiment with self-portraiture at a young age, and uses it in the majority of his work to place himself in past experiences. His work was included in National Young Arts Week 2017, curated by Pérez Art Museum Miami Director Franklin Sirmans in the YoungArts Gallery, and was also included in Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery’s Power Ball XIX: Stereo Vision Exhibition in Toronto. Hall has received the Max Mara Young Visionary Award, was a Young Arts Finalist Gold Winner, and received Gold Key Regional Scholastic Art & Writing Awards in 2016 and 2017.
