Trisha Holt uses photographic prints both as props in her performative installations, and as a means of presenting the resulting compositions. Holt, who received her training in photography, is known for using collage, repetition, and distortion in her works, and also for frequently featuring herself as both a subject and a prop. Her “Lovechild” works (2012), in which each image is based on an interpretive and abstract mix of two well-known, creative figures, feature large blow-up photographic prints with strategic cut-outs as clothing, a mask, or furniture in a scene that she then re-photographs.
