Unknown, ‘Bismarck Cup’, North German-ca 1580, Kunstkammer Georg Laue

This magnificent covered cup was made to celebrate the marriage of a Bismarck to a member of the Schenk von Dönstedt family. This is attested by the centrally positioned coats of arms of the two families as well as the initials of Anna von Schenk (d. 1591) and Abraham von Bismarck (1543 – 1589) engraved above the armorial bearings.
