The Coupe vase by Ursula Scheid has a very distinct silhouette, its small round foot rising straight upward and then flaring out into a “Y” shape, culminating in a vertical band demarcated by two lines of white running around the body of the vase. The resulting funnel shape is reminiscent of the eponymous wide champagne glass. Like many other pieces made by the Scheids during this period in time, the Coupe vase has been rendered in a palette of mostly matte black with small areas of white accents.
