Utagawa Hiroshige (Andō Hiroshige), ‘Lake At Hakone from 36 Views of Mt. Fuji’, 1858, Egenolf Gallery Japanese Prints & Drawing

Fuji rises clear and strong above the mists from the famous Fuji-view resort town of Hakone. Not a soul is in evidence, nor signs of human habitation. Bright yellow clouds lie just beyond Mount Fuji, so perhaps this was intended as an early morning view. From the series “Thirty-six Views of Mt. Fuji.” Excellent impression, color and condition.

Series: Thirty-six Views of Mt Fuji (Fuji sanju rokkei)
