About Vibeke Tandberg

Vibeke Tandberg is a photographer whose subject is her own psychological and social relationship to the world. She is known for digitally manipulating her images to contort human figures and the spaces they occupy, whether altering architectural space to exaggerate the artist’s pregnant body or overlaying friends’ portraits with her own to demonstrate the distortive powers of envy. Her images frequently include everyday subjects and her immediate surroundings, such as the artist’s family, her household, friends, holidays, and stages in her life. Common themes include gender identity, beauty, youth, and stereotypes. Tandberg also makes experimental films, often commingled with photography.
