“LEAF” is a light and airy tension sculpture, incorporating welded steel and aircraft cable. Three slender green leaf forms spring gracefully from a base, suspended in space and separated from each other by cable tension. The overall composition is very eccentric, with the leaf forms reaching off to one side as if seeking the sun. It suggests new life, growth and striving. All parts are protected with a powdercoat finish color – a baked-on industrial coating designed to withstand indoor or outdoor conditions. “LEAF” is fully three-dimensional and asymmetrical. Each of its perspectives conveys a different dynamic. The cable-tensioned components are relatively stationary, though slightly subject to air movement. It would be appropriate for display on solid ground in an open area viewable from multiple angles. It will require ground stabilization if subject to wind. The Green/Violet color scheme stands out strikingly against its environment.
