Inspired by the human body’s language of movement in space, W.W. Hung's imaginative compositions explore the body as an expression of mind, emotion and spirit. Each work possesses a powerful spatial presence despite often being intimate in scale, as forms are depicted in a dynamic engagement with the space they inhabit.
Suspended Man is a powerful work, an expression of an existential angst. It is produced in two scales - a smaller indoor scale, and this larger outdoor installation format as pictured here.
Hung's work has been a part of the Nuit Blanche in Toronto, exhibitions at the Canadian Sculpture Centre, the juried exhibition at the Shore Institute of Contemporary Arts (New Jersey). He has participated in the Oeno Sculpture Garden exhibitions in 2014 and 2015. His work is part of the permanent collection of the Kingsbrae Sculpture Garden in New Brunswick.
