Yaron Michael Hakim, ‘Cuchilla de carnicero’, 2017, Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions: Benefit Auction 2017

Framed: 19.5 x 17 in.

Yaron Michael Hakim was born in Bogota, Colombia and raised in Europe, Australia, and Israel. He received his MFA from the University of California, Irvine in 2013 and his BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2002. Hakim's work draws upon his personal history, namely his peripatetic rootlessness and interstitial experience of global culture. His works reflect the richness of subjective encounters with “foreign” places. He has exhibited in Europe and the US, notably with a solo exhibition at LA><ART in Los Angeles. Hakim was recently featured in New American Paintings #127.
