Lee Yun-sung is working on expressing and expanding in his own way, exploring the subject of classical Western painting, borrowing the form of cartoons and games, especially the form of Japanese animation/manga. It is building a new image form, not the image consumed in the existing paintings, and in particular, it utilizes a non-mainstream culture (subculture) called 'Moe' and 'Moehwa'. The characteristics of the Lee Yun-sung painting revealed at this point tend to reverse the essential characteristics of subculture itself, other than visual images, by utilizing various images represented by subculture.
