Zach Louw, ‘Lake Malawi’, 2016, Museum of African Design (MOAD)

During our 4-day stay in Cape Maclear in Malawi, Rebecca and I would swim in the lake every evening at just around sunset. By day 4, after becoming more popular with the local children after dinosaur reenactments, macarena dance moves and shoulder jumping , we had a group of 10 kids swimming, splashing and playing with us until the sun dipped over the horizon or their mothers called them in for dinner.

Here, Workson laughs as his friend Chelsea playfully splashes his face to make him smile at sunset.
