Aperture Foundation: Benefit Auction 2018

On Tuesday, October 30, Aperture Foundation will hold its 2018 Gala and Auction, honoring five artists and leaders—Agnes Gund, Catherine Gund, Catherine Opie, Hank Willis Thomas, and Dr. Deborah Willis—for their contributions to art and photography and to the power of family: the human family, the families who support us (including the families we choose), and the Aperture family of photography.

Since 1952, Aperture has helped define the genre of photography by publishing some of the most thought-provoking artists of our time, including Diane Arbus, Sally Mann, Mickalene Thomas, Nan Goldin, and LaToya Ruby Frazier. Aperture today continues to publish classic and contemporary publications, issues a quarterly magazine, and presents education programs and exhibitions in New York, across North America, worldwide, and online.

In advance of the Gala and Auction, browse lots and place max bids before live bidding begins on October 30th at 8:30pm EDT. All proceeds go toward Aperture’s general operating fund, and its mission to serve the art, story, and community of photography. Purchase tickets to the 2018 Aperture Gala by clicking here.

‘Crossings’, the November 2018 Square Print Sale, presented by Magnum Photos and Aperture Foundation, will bring together a selection of over 100 images by international artists, to explore perspectives on transition and transformation in photography.
