Boghossian Foundation: Benefit Auction for Armenia
Artsy presents the online Boghossian Foundation: Benefit Auction for Armenia, featuring 25 lots including works by Etel Adnan, Anthony Gormley, Peter Halley, Robert Longo, Gérard Schneider and Chico da Silva, amongst others.
The auction launches on February 15, 12pm EST (6 PM CET), and begins to close on February 29, 12pm EST (6 PM CET).
The Boghossian Foundation was created in 1992 by Robert Boghossian and his two sons, Jean and Albert, jewelers of Armenian origin, with the primary objective of contributing to development and education. Its philanthropic action embraces a whole series initiatives in Armenia and Lebanon. In 2010, the Foundation opens the Villa Empain in Brussels, a Centre for Art and Dialogue between Eastern en Western Cultures.
In the wake of the tragedy taking place in Armenia with more than 100,000 displaced people from Artsakh (also known as Nagorno-Karabakh), the Boghossian Foundation has considerably increased its contribution, efforts and aid to the country in 2023 and 2024.
The proceeds of the auction will go to the AGBU Global Relief Fund which enables AGBU (Armenian General Benevolent Union) to offer various aid programs to tens of thousands of displaced Armenians from Artsakh restarting their lives in Armenia, including medical and mental health services, distribution of basic supplies such as heaters, job trainings and placements, weekend and summer camps with trauma counselling, and readiness to address the changing needs of the population.
The Boghossian Foundation and AGBU thank warmly the artists, galleries and donors for their generous donation and support.
Bidding for this auction will take place exclusively on Artsy and will begin to close on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at 12pm EST (6 PM CET)
The countdown timer on the artwork pages will display the end time for the lot. Each lot closes in 1-minute increments and will be reset to 2 minutes if a bid is placed within the 2 minutes before the lot's scheduled closing time. For further information please see our FAQ
This auction has a 15% buyer's premium, which will be added to the final hammer price of each sold work.
Each work ships from a different location, as noted on the individual lot pages. Shipping costs and all applicable fees are the responsibility of the buyer.
