Center for Maine Contemporary Art: Benefit Auction 2021
Art You Love | A Benefit Auction for the Center for Maine Contemporary Art
Just in time for Valentine’s Day, the Center for Maine Contemporary Art (CMCA) presents its annual “Art You Love” benefit auction, featuring more than fifty works of art by leading and emerging artists, all with Maine connections. Proceeds from the auction directly support CMCA’s exhibitions and educational programming for all ages.
Founded in 1952 by artists, CMCA is the state’s preeminent venue for contemporary art. Throughout its history, it has introduced the work of thousands of artists with ties to Maine to the public, including many—such as Alex Katz, Lois Dodd, David Driskell, Katherine Bradford, and William Wegman—who have gone on to national and international acclaim.
In June 2016, CMCA moved to a new Toshiko Mori-designed building in the heart of downtown Rockland, Maine’s arts district, extending its reach exponentially and elevating its mission of supporting, exhibiting and sustaining the art and artists of Maine to a whole new level.
As the foremost champion of contemporary art in Maine, CMCA advocates for artists and presents thought provoking, often experimental, exhibitions and programs that further an understanding and awareness of the art of our time.
Browse lots and place bids before the auction closes on Friday, February 26th at 12pm EST.
