ICA London: Benefit Auction 2018 (January)

A Benefit Auction of Editions from the Institute of Contemporary Arts’ Archive

Artists are at the heart of the Institute of Contemporary Arts, and the support of their work forms the core of our purpose. Offered in this sale are a selection of iconic Artist’s Editions from the ICA’s Archive. We have always commissioned our Artists’ Editions as a test-site for artistic production by the most interesting artists working at the time.

Here we invite you to bid on editions produced by seminal artists that includes; Art & Language, Harold Ancart, Pablo Bronstein, Marlene Dumas, Mark Leckey, Sarah Sze, Nancy Spero and many more. This auction offers a rare opportunity to purchase these prints, with the sale of these editions supporting the Institute of Contemporary Arts’ diverse and progressive programme. All proceeds go directly towards the programme, nurturing and enabling the development of transformative cultural ideas and actions.

Founded in 1946, the Institute of Contemporary Arts leads the debate in contemporary art and culture. Continually looking forward while laying claim to an extraordinary legacy, the ICA was home to the Independent Group and played a pivotal role in the development of Pop Art. It charted the course of Punk, Performance Art and Independent Cinema, and introduced numerous international artists including Richard Prince, Asger Jorn, Douglas Huebler, Gerhard Richter, Francis Bacon, Francis Picabia, Nancy Spero, Dieter Roth, Marcel Broodthaers, Mike Kelley, Cosy Fanny Tutti and Barbara Kruger. The ICA has always been the place for critical discourse, featuring programmes with the likes of Kathy Acker, Gayatri Chakravorty Spivak, Stuart Hall and Homi K. Bhabha. From its home on The Mall, at the heart of the establishment, the ICA supports interdisciplinary practice, encouraging artists to experiment and explore new ideas.
