The Rema Hort Mann Foundation is a lifeline, bringing hope and critical resources to cancer patients and supporting visionary emerging artists at pivotal moments in their lives. Founded in 1995 in memory of Rema Hort Mann, who lost her life to cancer at the age of 30, we carry forward her spirit and passion through grants that profoundly impact those in need.
The Peter Hort Quality of Life Cancer Grant is a powerful support system for low-income cancer patients. It provides rapid-response funds for essential needs like travel, caregiving, and lodging. In partnership with dedicated social workers, these grants help patients maintain vital family connections and stability during their hardest days.
Our Emerging Artist Program champions early-career artists by offering them exhibition platforms, public programs, professional growth, and financial support. By investing in their transformative potential, we enable these artists to enrich and shape the landscape of contemporary art for years to come. Through our work, we honor Rema’s memory and nurture resilience, connection, and creative legacy.

When artists contribute in this way, it’s because they believe deeply in our mission. They receive only a nominal tax deduction but choose to give because they know the impact it makes. Join us in supporting these remarkable artists, collecting the work of living creators, and becoming part of the transformative change happening at our Foundation. Together, we can make a lasting difference!
