Absolut Vodka Artist Collaborations

For more than three decades, the Swedish vodka company Absolut has collaborated with top artists—including Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and Keith Haring—to create works that celebrate and advertise the liquor company. Absolut invites artists to re-envision the clean design of its iconic vodka bottle in their own signature styles, resulting in vodka bottles disguised as spiders (Louise Bourgeois), portraits of celebrities welding vodka bottles (Annie Leibovitz), and vodka bottles preserved in glass boxes (Damien Hirst). “Absolut has a long history with artists,” said Anish Kapoor when he was selected in 2014 for a collaboration. “It is a strange notion, but one that I felt I could at least go in pursuit of.”
