The second edition of 1:54 Contemporary African Art Fair will take place in London from 16 to 19 October 2014 (preview day: 15 October).
1:54 is a platform for galleries, artists, curators, art centres and museums involved in African and Africa related projects and aims to promote art by established and emerging talents amongst an international audience.
1:54 is initiated by market developer Touria El Glaoui under the auspice of Art Africa Ltd. Designed by Rashid-Ali / RA Projects, 1:54 will be held at Somerset House, a historic building and major cultural arts centre in the heart of London.
1:54 will be accompanied by an educational and artistic programme curated by Koyo Kouoh and will include lectures, film screenings and panel debates featuring leading international curators, artists and art experts.
1:54 is a high quality event which will showcase a limited number of 27 carefully selected galleries.
The fair will be open to the public from Thursday 16 to Sunday 19 October, 2014, from 10am to 6pm daily. The preview day is Wednesday 15 October (invitation only).

Concession: Reduced admission is available for 13-18 years and full-time students with a valid NUS/ISIC card on entry.
Children: Admission is free of charge for children of 12 years and under. All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Tours: Our tours are an excellent introduction to the exhibitors’ galleries and a convenient way to see a tailored view of the fair in a short visit. Public tours are designed for individuals and groups (10 people or less) and are available Wednesday – Sunday, 15.00 and 17.00 daily.

Buses servicing the Strand include numbers 6, 9, 11, 13, 15, 23, 77a, 91 and 176. The River Bus Service can be taken to Embankment and Savoy piers.
Pedestrian access to Somerset House is from Victoria Embankment, Waterloo Bridge (via a new footbridge link) or from the Strand.
