


Contemporary Istanbul 2013
Contemporary Istanbul will take place 7-10 November at The Istanbul Convention and Exhibition Centre (ICEC) and Istanbul Congress Center (ICC). Featuring 92 galleries from 21 countries with outstanding works by more than 650 international and Turkish artists, the eighth edition of fair will be the largest event to date. Half of the works to be exhibited are from the region Balkans, North Africa and East Mediterranean and the rest is from Europe and America. Marlborough Gallery, New York; Galerie Lelong, Paris; Andipa Gallery, London; Opera Gallery, Genoa; Galeria Filomena Soares, Lisbon; Galeria Javier Lopez, Madrid; Senda, Spain; Michael Schultz, Germany; Klaus Steinmetz, Costa Rica; Dirimart, Galerist, Galeri Mana, Galeri Nev, Pi Artworks, Rampa, Xist from Turkey are among the expected participant galleries.
New Horizons, a section of Contemporary Istanbul which offers an annual focus of contemporary art from a selected geographic region will this year put a spotlight on Russia.
Hermann Nitsch, one of the founders of Vienna Actionism will exhibit his 66th Painting Performance, "Malakt" in Contemporary Istanbul.
CI Dialogues, the fair's talk programme will this year be themed around new technologies, new media and art tying into the first year of Plug In.
"DIYALOG": Art from Vienna will showcase works by leading contemporary artists living in Vienna sponsored by OMV Group, the newly special project sponsor of Contemporary Istanbul.
