GRANPALAZZO is a two-day exhibition-event that will take place in the splendid setting of Palazzo Rospigliosi in Zagarolo.
GRANPALAZZO aims to bring together art-world professionals in a single cozy venue, in contrast to larger art fairs and large-scale exhibitions, where it can be difficult to find space for people to come together and get the most out of their encounters.
GRANPALAZZO involves a small group of artists supported by international galleries whose practices stand out in terms of high-level curatorship and the creation of a market of their own in spite of the trends of the moment.
Palazzo Rospigliosi is a sixteenth-century palazzo originally built by the Colonnas—one of the great noble families of Renaissance and Baroque Rome—then owned by the Rospigliosi family. The Palazzo houses numerous unique works of art including frescoes and grotesques, and is in an excellent state of preservation.
Each room will put the works of two artists in conversation in a carefully curated setting.
GRANPALAZZO will also include a program of performances, curated by Ilaria Gianni, involving artists working with the participating galleries, as well as a series of special projects curated by Nero Magazine (Rome), LULU (Mexico City), The Green Parrot (Barcelona) and Cura Magazine (Rome), which will take place inside the Palazzo and in the streets of Zagarolo.
By leaving the big city and entering a new and different dimension, GRANPALAZZO will be an event that brings out the colors of the region from a cultural, scenic and gastronomic point of view. In an enchanting atmosphere where time goes by at a different pace and where the emphasis is on quality, the aim is to create a unique opportunity to bring about an authentic and lasting dialogue between professionals in the sector.
