MASS MoCA: Benefit Auction 2021

MASS MoCA, in North Adams, Massachusetts, is one of the world's liveliest and largest centers for making and enjoying today's most evocative art. With more than 250,000 sq. ft. of gallery space, and over 75 performances year-round, MASS MoCA embraces all forms of art: sculpture, dance, film, painting, photography, theater, and new, boundary-crossing works of art that defy easy classification. Much of the work shown and designed within MASS MoCA's expansive network of repurposed, late 19th-century factory buildings and interior courtyards is created during extended fabrication and rehearsal residencies that bring the world's most brilliant and innovative artists to North Adams. The museum constantly reinvigorates its galleries and stages every season with new exhibitions, dynamic programming, and performing arts.
This year, we honor our founding director Joe Thompson as he departs after a 33-year tenure at MASS MoCA. Under his visionary leadership, MASS MoCA has become one of the world’s most prolific venues for nurturing and creating new art, especially art that requires generous space and extended time. In honor of Joe’s life’s work building a place where artists can dream big, proceeds from this year’s auction will establish the Joe Thompson “Yes” Fund, which will directly support the museum’s mission to champion artists and art-making in all forms.
With your help, MASS MoCA can continue to be an open platform for the sharing of bold new ideas, as we look toward a future that needs them more than ever. Donate here.
Bidding for the auction will close on Friday, April 30th at 2:00pm EDT.
