Acéfala

Acéfala is a hybrid project, aside from being a gallery, it's a space for investigation and residency. It was walled up and collapsed with sound waves during its first years. It was also a resistance bunker for the development of alternative economies and a clandestine laboratory that mixed medicines with spiritual dogma. Its search was oriented towards fostering the creation of site specific works which challenged the gallery’s physical space and created a crisis out of its concept. Since its hub is the previous accompaniment of the work in progress, the modality of resident artist was implemented, allowing the artist to produce his/her work in situ during the month before the exposition.
