About
Ayala Museum is one of the leading private museums in the Philippines. This six-storey edifice houses permanent exhibits on Filipino culture, art, and history. It also features changing exhibits that situate Philippine art in the global arena, and hosts overseas collections.
Ayala Museum was established in 1967 under the auspices of the Filipinas Foundation, now the Ayala Foundation. Some of the highlights of its permanent collection are 10th-13th century gold objects, indigenous Philippine textiles, Asian ceramic tradewares, 18th-20th century paintings by Filipino masters, and 60 exquisitely wood-carved dioramas telling the story of the nation. Since 2013, the museum has become home to the Filipinas Heritage Library, providing contemporary researchers access to Filipiniana such as rare books, archival photos, and recordings.
The museum is kept dynamic through partnerships and changing exhibitions featuring modern and contemporary art both by Filipino and international artists. It also offers monthly public events on art, music, history, film, and literature.
