About
Contemporary Art Matters is a private gallery in Columbus, Ohio featuring emerging and established artists from Ohio and around the US, working in painting, sculpture and photography. The gallery is open for events and by appointment.
Contemporary Art Matters was founded in 2017 by Rebecca Ibel as a private gallery combined with collector services.
Rebecca Ibel has a BA in Art History from The American University of Paris. She began at Sotheby’s NY, worked in Berlin prior to returning to Columbus, where for 18 years, she ran the Rebecca Ibel Gallery. In 2011, Ibel became the founding Director and Curator of the Pizzuti Collection, where she curated numerous shows including: Cuban Forever, NOW-ISM, Robert Buck, US IS THEM and Visions from India.
Cathy Jones Williard is a sales associate and director of the Contemporary Art Circle. Cathy received a BS in French and Art History from Georgetown University and her Master’s Degree in French Studies from Middlebury College.
